Dr. Emilio Mantero-Atienza, MD, widely known as Dr. Mantero, is a renowned Psychiatry Specialist based in Miami, Florida. With over 42 years of dedicated experience in the medical field, he has carved a niche for himself, particularly in the treatment of Psychotic Disorders and Addiction & Substance Abuse.Dr. Mantero’s journey began with his graduation from the University of Sevilla School of Medicine in Sevilla, Spain, in 1981. Following this, he pursued his passion for mental health, earning a Ph.D. in Clinical Biochemistry and a Master’s in Public Health & Epidemiology at the University of Miami Medical School.
He has served as faculty for over 15 years at the University of Miami School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital, contributing to academic research and imparting knowledge to the next generation of medical professionals. His leadership in Behavioral units across various local hospitals in Miami, including Cedars Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Kendall Regional Hospital, and Southern Winds Hospital, showcases his expertise in General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine (Addictionologist).
