History Maritain Health
North American Health Plans, the beginning of Maritain Health’s journey, started over forty years ago. In 2006, Maritain Health came into being with the transformation and rebrand to Maritain Health, and what we know today as the TPA. This shift put us in a better situation to meet our plans for being excellent and much better attentive to our customers’ needs.
In 2011 our growth increased significantly when we became a subsidiary of Aetna®, one of the largest and most recognizable health insurance providers in the United States. This partnership allowed us to better serve our consumers and to reach a new much wider audience. As part of the CVS Health® family, Maritain Health grew its presence in the healthcare industry even further in 2018, reaffirming our leadership role while continuing our ability to deliver for our members.
Currently, GHC is staffed by Primary Care and Specialists, physicians numbering over 80, and supported by Nurse Practitioners, Registered and Practical Nurses, and other certified healthcare professionals. This has become a good model of care delivery where the needs of the community ranging from basic health check-ups, specialized services, and even diagnostic functions can be met under the same umbrella. However, GHC directly manages the largest community-based diagnostic imaging clinics in the region which are on a single EMR network.

- Residential treatment. Inpatient or residential treatment programs may be covered too where people get 24/7 care in a good, structured framework to deal with extreme psychological wellness and/ or addiction issues.
- Partial Hospitalization (PHP). This program gives you a higher level of care than with outpatient services, and you do not need to be in a residential setting. Daily therapy and support are the norm and the structure of treatment is often a set approach for people who require more intensive care than is provided through standard outpatient services.
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Treatment at IOP is flexible, combining structured therapy with support so individuals can live at home. This one is meant for those whose care is not full but requires penetration treatment sessions several times a day.
- Outpatient Program (OP). This is relatively lower intensive care for people who can get counseling and therapy on a regular schedule without incorporating residential or inpatient care. It’s best for people with milder conditions or those who are no longer in more intense treatment programs.

- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). It is a therapy developed just for helping one process traumatic memories. It’s often used in treating PTSD, particularly to help clients make sense of negative memories by reducing the emotional charge.

How Much Does Maritain Health Cover For Mental Health Treatment?
With Maritain Health, treatment costs will vary based on your plan, as well as the type of provider you select. On average, each therapy session of Family Therapy will cost you between $50 and $150 out of pocket. The amount you pay, however, depends on such factors as whether your therapist is in-network or out of network, and the specific benefits of your Maritain plan.
For the in-network provider, Maritain Health usually covers a large part of the therapy session. Copays are in the ballpark of $30 per session and coinsurance generally means whatever percentage of the session fee you’re responsible for. If your therapist charges a higher session fee, so too will the amount you pay out of pocket.
The costs can be even higher if you go to an out-of-network provider. For these cases, you can be asked to pay up to 60 percent (which varies from $120 to $250 or more per session) of your current session fee.
