Is BPD Worse Than Narcissism?

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) are completely different conditions, and there’s no objective way to say which one of them is “worse” than the other. BPD is diagnosed through enormous emotions, anxiety about being left alone and impulsivity, while NPD includes a desire for admiration, a lack of empathy, and a feeling of neurosis. Both can have serious problems for the individuals and for the people they hang out with. But, people with BPD are usually exposed to very deep pain of emotions and their lives are rather unstable, while the persons with NPD are very egoistic and they may have problems with a successful relationship due to that issue. The gravity of the disorder is different for each person, depending on the individual, his/her coping mechanisms, and his or her willingness to get help. Both of these medical conditions can recuperate by a relevant therapy, which may be, say, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for BPD or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for NPD. If you face problems like the ones described above, you should have some counseling that would give you the support to deal with them effectively.
